General Information:
Rugged Run for Respect is sure to challenge every level of athlete with trails, mud and obstacles! Whether you are a seasoned runner or triathlon expert, looking to add some spice to your training or wanting to try something new with your friends ... this is the race for YOU! Thousands of runners will get 'down and dirty' at Holiday Mountain in Monticello at our first annual Rugged Run for Respect, benefiting the 55,698 athletes of Special Olympics New York. The approximate 5k out-and-back course on dirt trails includes steep mountain climbs, mud pits, a tunnel crawl, tire course, slalom run and much more! In addition,there will be a post event party to enjoy.

Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting muddy, running shoes and gloves.

Stretch out and prepare yourself for the most challenging fun you will ever have.
Please arrive approximately 1 hour prior to your race time.

Waterproof sun block, sunglasses, gloves, trash bags for your dirty clothes, clean clothes, flip flops/sneakers for the after event festivities. Bring a little cash if you want food, beverages or merchandise. If you already have your number, affix it to the back of your shirt.
Medical help will be available at the start/finish lines as well as on the race course.
No, there is no time limit to finish the course. Participants are permitted to walk the course.
We strongly encourage you to try to finish the entire course. If you are unable to complete a particular obstacle there will be a penalty for obstacle omittance. IE: push ups, burpees, knife swallowing. Just making sure you are paying attention! But seriously ... try to finish each obstacle.
Yes, there will be water and aid stations on the course and at the start/finish area.
Spectators will be able to view the Rugged Run for Respect from the start/finish line area at no cost.
Rugged Run events will proceed unless under extremely bad weather conditions.
Post Race:
Yes. Photos will be posted and available for purchase within 7 days of the event.
